This was an okay book. I had not read a Sandra Brown book in a long time and I found it to be a little long for the content. I did like the characters and they all seemed to have interesting lives, but for some reason I didn't really care a whole lot about them.

You do begin to hate Judge Cato Laird though so that was a good thing. Justice was served in the end too, so that was also a good thing. I was a little surprised at the ending and that gave the book a little redeeming quality.

I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars. I think the story could have been told in a more concise manner. It just seemed a little too wordy for me. I will not read another book by her for a while, so possibly that will help with the next book of hers. I normally love them and can't stop reading them.
