Fourteen-year old Andrew feels like an outcast in his family. He's not into sports like his quarterback brother Tim, or his cheerleader sister, Kathlyn. Father Bruce Waterford has always left the fathering and mothering of his children to wife Lyla. Lyla was willing enough to interrupt her career in physics research to be with infants Tim and Kathlyn. But at the point of turning the further care of her children over to Nanny Louise in order to return to her career, she discovered she was pregnant. Resentful of again being tied to raising an infant, she had less patience with Andrew. More artistic than his siblings, Andrew has never felt welcomed to the family.Andrew is found shot in an apparent suicide. Shock enough for the remaining four family members, they are further stunned when the detectives call them in for questioning because the evidence points to homicide, not suicide. The interrogations break open the darkest of the family secrets, revealing motivations for someone in the family to be the killer.
