Meryl Sawyer

     
Meryl Sawyer grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico where her mother instilled a love of reading and writing. She attended the Writers Program at UCLA, where at a cocktail party she met Colleen McCullough, author of Thornbirds. Sawyer followed the advice McCullough gave her and completed her novel. Blind Chance, her first, was published in July 1990.

She has since written sixteen romantic suspense novels, an anthology and a historical novel, the majority of which have been on the New York Times/USA Today Bestseller lists. Sawyer has won the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Contemporary Romantic Suspense as well as for Best New Contemporary Author. She has been a finalist in the Romance Writers of America contest with Last Night and A Kiss in the Dark. Sawyer also received the Readers Choice Award for The Hideaway. She lives in Newport Beach, California with her three dogs.
