      Fran Ellen loves the Bears' House more than anything in the world. It sits in the back of her fourth grade class and it's a wonderful place for Fran Ellen to visit. Her good friends Goldilocks and The Three Bears always make her feel special and loved. Not like the kids in her class who don't like her at all and make fun of her because she sucks her thumb.

      At the end of the term, the teacher, Miss Thompson, has promised to give the house to the worthiest student. Fran Ellen just knows the beautiful house will go to either showoff Rosalie or teacher's pet Jennifer. Never to Fran Ellen, whose problems at home have caused her to get into all kinds of trouble at school. If only life at home could be as wonderful as it is in the magic world of the Bears' House...
