Michelle:
I didn't really care for this book...It was very slow and quite boring, unlike the other two books in this series. Connor was an okay guy, but the author kept introducing more and more drama from his childhood, as if she thought of it along the way. (i.e. the claustrophobic incident. Rowena, though, was a piece of work!
I was not liking Rowena at all by the end of the book. She acted as if she didn't want any worldly possessions, even resented Connor for all the wonderful things he put in her house. Instead of being grateful and thanking him, she made a point to let him know just how much she DIDN'T like it. I took offense to that and think Connor should have as well. Her whole reasoning was that she didn't want to get attached to things that she can't have...whatever!
Then at the end, she was afraid of loosing "everything she had". Well...whatever! Even after everything happened and Connor proposed to her, she stated she didn't have anything - she lost it all. Well...if she sees it that way, I doubt her love for Connor!
I was able to get through this book, but it was very painful and very slow at times. The other two in the series were much, much better.
