Haley thought, just for once to disregard logic, to put aside all notion of what she should or shouldn't do. After all, it wasn't as if she could really get herself into trouble. This was Adam they were talking about--her friend, her confidant, her protector, her. . .
Face it, she told herself, everything had changed between them since they'd started writing their ninth book--a romance. Adam's kiss was everything Haley had known it would be--gentle, tender, infinitely persuasive.
