Kate Walker

Although Kate Walker was born in Nottinghamshire, England she considers Yorkshire her home. Her family moved to West Yorkshire when she was just eighteen months old. She is the middle child of five girls where she would make up stories to entertain her younger sisters. Even though she enjoyed writing as a child, the adults in her life guided her toward a more secure career. Consequently, instead of writing books she decided to work with them as a librarian. She got married, moved to Lincolnshire and after the birth of her son became a stay-at-home mother. After 3 years, she began writing again and submitting her work to Mills & Boon. In 1984, her first book, “The Chalk Line”, was published. To date, she has written over 50 books.
