A personal tragedy was the impetus for Kasey Michaels becoming an author. Her eight-year old son had kidney failure and she spent many months in and around hospitals waiting for his transplant. It was during this difficult time that she noticed that nurses and mothers all seemed to keep a romance novel tucked away in a purse or pocket. She realized that inside the pages of those books was an escape from the pain and suffering around them. Michaels had written her first book before her son’s illness but it was during the nine-month wait for his kidney transplant that she wrote “The Tenacious Miss Tamerlane”. That book was a great success and a favorite among her readers. To date, she has written over a hundred novels.
