Belinda:
I really liked reading Jo Goodman's latest western romance titled "The Last Renegade". She pens brilliant characters that show emotional depth. I believe this one has so much more than the standard cowboy theme. I was enthralled with Kellen Coltrane. He was just minding his own business when he notices a man on a train who he thinks is ill. He goes to rescue and help and finds the man has been knifed very badly. Kellen asks the man his name and he says Nat Church. The man knows that he's dying and explains to Kellen to go to Bitter Springs, Wyoming to help a certain woman. Kellen makes his promise to the man and the his destination is set.
When Raine Berry spies her latest guest at her Pennyroyal Hotel and saloon, she is taken about by the man himself. Raine is expecting a gunslinger/shooter to help her get justice for the death of her sister. The town is plagued by bloodshed of its citizens and she hires Kellen to be the protector. But being a loner and black sheep of his family, Kellen is unexpectedly taken by the lovely and spirited woman who can make him believe in his own worth and find a love in the bargain.
