Jennifer Crusie

Jennifer Cruise was born in the small town of Wapakoneta, Ohio. She holds a BA in Art Education from Bowling Green State University, an MA from Wright State University, and an MFA in Fiction from Ohio State University. In 1986, she took a leave of absence from her teaching job to work on her Ph.D. In the summer of 1991, she was working on her dissertation on the impact of gender on narrative strategies. As part of her research into the different ways that men and women tell stories, she planned to read 100 romance novels. She quickly found herself hooked on the genre and decided to write a romance instead finishing her Ph.D. Her first book sold in August of 1992. Since then she has gone on to publish many more novels.
