When Jane was five, her parents told her that a book she'd written, Padre the Mexican Mouse, was a literary masterpiece. When she found out that rodents really didn't have nationalities, she was crushed.
Later, she earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in Professional Writing, but several years passed before she pursued publication. She experimented in various genres for several months, trying to decide exactly what she wanted to write. About that time, a friend handed her five romances from her keeper shelf. Jane read them all, and she was hooked. From that point on, there was no doubt about it—she wanted to write romance novels!
In 1999, Jane became a finalist for Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart Award, which led to her first sale. Because she always looks at life from a humorous perspective, she's delighted to have her first two books published by Harlequin Duets, which feature the funnier side of falling in love.
Jane lives in a cozy little neighborhood in Richardson, Texas, with her husband—who she says is the most wonderful man alive—and her 16-year-old daughter, who can talk on the phone, chat online, play her stereo, and watch TV all at the same time. Rounding out the household is a cat named Jessica, who's lucky to be beautiful because she certainly isn't smart. Jane's goal is to become successful enough as a writer that she can afford to buy her husband a halo, her daughter a sensory deprivation chamber, and her cat a brain.
