I, Michael Bennett by James Patterson

I, Michael Bennett by James Patterson

Police officers shot

Detective Michael Bennett arrests an infamous Mexican crime lord in a deadly chase that leaves Bennett's lifelong friend Hughie McDonough dead. From jail, the prisoner vows to rain epic violence down upon New York City-and to get revenge on Michael Bennett.

Judges murdered

To escape the chaos, Bennett takes his ten kids and their beautiful nanny, Mary Catherine, on a much-needed vacation to his family's cabin near Newburgh, New York. But instead of the calm and happy town he remembers from growing up, they step into a nightmare worse than they could have ever imagined. Newburgh is an inferno of warring gangs, and there's little the police-or Bennett-can do to keep the children safe.

Target: Michael Bennett

As violence overwhelms the state, Bennett is torn between protecting his hometown and saving New York City. A partner in his investigations, federal prosecutor Tara McLellan, brings him new weapons for the battle-and an attraction that endangers his relationship with Mary Catherine. A no-holds-barred, pedal-to-the-floor, action-packed novel, I, Michael Bennett is James Patterson at his most personal and most thrilling best.

Geraldine:
This is by far one of the best series written by James Patterson. I rated this 5***** which I rarely do. I love the lovable family of this tough but sensitive NYPD homicide Detective who lst his
Overly wife in the first series and must take care of their 10 adopted children. It works its way through with unique plots in evey new book. The mysteries and following suspense are well written and keep the reader flipping pages from first page to last. Lots of action along with twists and turns KEP it going. I read it by DL from Aud.com & receive the extra pleasure of having the characters come to life even more. Narrators do a great job with the Irish accent of the priest who is part of their family and all the kids voices too. Also the sound effects are well one because they are infrequent and well timed. I put these books on with headphones at night and all my worries slip away while I am taken to another world of pleasure and distraction reminding me of a time years ago, when I was a child and listened to someone telling a story that made me forget all but the present moment. I love to read all books on all forums, but this is a special pleasure that one can enjoy also!
