Michelle:
After reading several of her books in a row, I've learned that this author likes to make the female a victim and the male the "bad guy." In this book, Dale was actually a good guy with no mars on his character, but Christine's first husband was EVIL!
Another thing I notice is that she deals with really hard issues. We get how horrible things were for Christine without Ms. Hannon coming right out and giving us the description language. I will tell you that Christine's story is not pretty. But I'm happy Dale was able to help her with her current problems.
This was such a great story! It starts our with Christine having an intense fear and hatred for cops, and as we go through the story we learn that the reason for this is very understandable and very clear. We also learn that Dale had a rough first marriage as well, and he is now a wonderful father.
The romance in this story was slow in coming, but understandable once you read their stories. Have plenty of Kleenex around. You'll need it!
