Photographer and gallery owner Janet Upton is trekking through the mountains of upstate New York with her camera during a thunderstorm when she sees a body plunging to the rocks below. To her double shock, the victim is her outspoken uncle Bud, who has willed her a valuable piece of land with a grim history.
