Reared in the jungle by a tribe of great apes, not all his later education can really civilize Tarzan. At heart he remains a wild animal--strong, cunning, and merciless when angered.

When he returns to his home one day to find his farm laid waste and no one left alive, Tarzan swears vengeance. His desperate searching takes him across a vast, arid desert to a strangely beautiful valley peopled by madmen: from there he returns and in grief and rage and hate he spreads terror through the jungle. Alone, he is a terrible enemy; with savage lions and great apes as his allies, Tarzan is invincible.
