About This Book

First novelist Cramer uses so many familiar elements of the O.J. Simpson case (although moving it to San Francisco) that readers may be turned off. Police find the butchered bodies of recently divorced and beautiful Heidi Sinclair, mother of two, and her younger lover Brett, restaurant owner, in Heidi's housealong with a bloody glove. At the ex-husband's place they find the matching glove and a blood-smeared car. The ex-husband's alibi consists of an airplane flight that same night. And so forth. Prose that is sometimes heavy-handed and flat also detracts, but curiosity may push some readers through this derivative effort. Marginal.
