Writing was the last profession that Brenda Novak ever expected to pursue. Being math and science minded, Novak pursued business at Brigham Young University, but abandoned her academic scholarship to get married and have children. She worked in real estate and ended up working as a loan officer. What triggered Novak's writing career was finding out her day-care provider had been drugging her children in order to get them to sleep. After that, she wanted a career that she could do from home.
Her first novel, Of Noble Birth, was published and was a Romantic Times award winner. She is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author and many of her books have won awards such as the National Reader's Choice award. She lives in Sacramento with her husband and their five children.
